VIA VT1625 HDTV Encoder - Solutions for a New Generation of High Definition Displays

Designed to enable connection of PC devices to the latest display devices, the VT1625 Digital High Definition Television Encoder supports any input resolution from 640x480 to 1024x768, including the HDTV input format 1280x720 or 1920x1080 in various RGB pixel data formats or YCrCb pixel data formats from graphic chip or MPEG decoders. Capable of performing non-interlace to interlace conversion for high-quality flicker-free video signals, the VIA VT1625 also integrates an advanced ASIC with VIA’s Advance ProScale® Technology which can scale the input resolution for 640x480 - 1024x768 encode for 1080i, 720p standard HDTV resolution output.

The TV encoder is capable of supporting various worldwide video standards, including NTSC-M (North America, Taiwan), NTSC-J (Japan), PAL-B, D, G, H, I (Europe, Asia), PAL-M (Brazil), PAL-N (Uruguay, Paraguay) and PAL-Nc (Argentina). The VIA VT1625 HDTV Encoder can simultaneously output composite video, S-Video, component, RGB signals with interlace/non-interlace scan mode, or output an analog progressive scan signal in YPbPr or RGB format. The video DACs can also be programmed to display secondary CRT monitor. In addition VIA also offers the VT1625M supporting Macrovision 7.1 anticopy video signals or the Macrovision 1.2 AGC copy protection with 525p and 625p progressive scan output.

ProScale™ Scaling Technology
The VIA ProScale™ engine enables advanced vertical and horizontal scaling technology. This enables scaling of an image from 0.5 to 1.5 factors in the horizontal and vertical directions allowing input resolutions from 640x480 – 1024x768 to outputted up to the latest 1080i or 720p standard HDTV resolutions.

Powerful Output Options:
The VIA VT1625 can simultaneously output composite video, S-Video, component, and RGB signals in interlace or non-interlace scan mode, or provides outputs in analog progressive scan in YPbPr or RGB formats.

Full Region Support:
The VT1625 HDTV Encoder support a wide range of worldwide video standards including NTSC-M (North America, Taiwan), NTSC-J (Japan), PAL-B, D, G, H, I (Europe, Asia), PAL-M (Brazil), PAL-N (Uruguay, Paraguay), and PAL-Nc (Argentina).

Macrovision Support (VT1625M only)
The VT1625M HDTV Encoder supports Macrovision 7.1.L1 anticopy video signals or the Macrovision 1.2 AGC copy protection with 525p and 625p progressive scan output. The Macrovision anticopy process provides a means to deter the unauthorized copying of copy protected analog video signals onto videocassettes.
