VIA Platform Support for Microsoft® Windows Vista™
In a continuing effort to ensure premium support for future technologies, VIA has been working closely with Microsoft to develop key system hardware components for Microsoft's next generation operating system, the Windows Vista operating system.
VIA has been involved in the Microsoft Windows Vista Logo program. Five chipsets with integrated graphics controllers have been awarded the Windows Vista Basic logo – providing VIA customers with the broadest chipset support for Vista, covering all market segments. The testing involved in the certification process guarantees a reliable and trouble free installation and usage of the Ultimate, Enterprise, Business, Home Premium and Home Basic editions of Microsoft Windows Vista. VIA's HD Audio codecs have also been awarded the Windows Vista Premium logo, ensuring that the high definition features can be enjoyed in the new operating system. VIA's processors (of at least 800MHz) are also recognized by Microsoft as a processor option in a Windows Vista Capable PC. VIA products that will support Windows Vista include:
IGP chipsets
Audio codecs
Processors
S3 Graphics GPUs
